SOCIAL ACTION & POLITICAL AWARENESS: Norristown KAPPAs continue to form cooperative relationships with individuals and organizations throughout Montgomery County, creating partnerships based upon like morals, values and ethics, for the purpose of Achievement, through Community Service. In addition, the Norristown KAPPAs maintain constant watch and wariness of Politics, whether it is culturally, economically, educationally, municipally, racially and or religiously based, for the benefit of Achievement, throughout Montgomery County. Community Service is a primary function of the Fraternity and is an integral part of the Chapter’s consistent outreach programs. We recognize the historically underserved populations such as: Ambler (Borough); Conshohocken (Borough); Crestmont (Willow Grove); Division Street (Jenkintown); LaMott (Melrose Park); McKinley (Elkins Park-Abington Township); Norristown (County Seat of Montgomery County); North Hills (Abington/Upper Dublin); Penllyn (Lower Gynnedd); Rebel Hill (Gulph Mills-Upper Merion Township); Wyncote (West Side-MLB Reggie Jackson’s neighborhood). To that end, the Chapter actively promotes Community Days, Church Visitations, Donations to the Less Fortunate, SAT Workshops, Town Meetings and Voter Registration Forums.
